ZX at a Glance The Dean X Series The Dean X Series offers ML, V and Z style guitars at a price that won't break the bank. These guitars feature maple necks, rosewood fretboards, dual humbuckers, and plenty of Dean mojo, and are built to rock--perfect for beginners and veterans alike. Basswood Body The MLX features a lightweight basswood body. Basswood is great for heavier rock and metal styles, delivering a nice even tone that feeds a dirt pedal (or a dimed Marshall) nicely. Bolt-On Construction Bolt-on neck construction provides an affordable alternative to set-neck or thru-body designs. The advantage of this design is that if you do have any neck trouble down the line, you can easily replace it. Dean Humbucker Pickups To capture the biting tones of vintage Deans, the company includes two of its standard humbuckers, in black-and-white "zebra" style for looks as good as the sounds.
