Melatonin is reported to be be an immune system booster. Our melatonin is a chewable tablet with a slight sweet taste. Melatonin inhibits two enzymes needed in the production of Cortisol (a stress Hormone) so it effectively reduces Cortisol levels. It is a well known antioxidant and has been associated with more REM time sleep. When used in conjunction with Lignans it works effectively to reduce Cortisol levels. K9 Choice is our own proprietary brand here at Products Development, LLC. Veterinarians recommend for reducing Cortisol to give 3 mg of melatonin twice a day for dogs under 30 lbs and 6 mg of melatonin twice a day for dogs over 30 lbs. For separation anxiety or for fireworks or sleep give about 1 hour before event.
