Merial(R) UlcerGard(R) To help prevent an outbreak of ulcers you can feed your horse UlcerGard. Ulcers are caused by radicals fluttering in the horse's body. Clinical symptoms of stomach ulcers include: poor appetite, loose stools, poor coat and performance. Omeprazole, the main ingredient in UlcerGard for horses, suppresses acid production, stopping pain and discomfort before they occur. Just 1mg/kg of omeprazole per day for 28 days effectively prevents the onset of ulcers in horses exposed to stressful conditions.
