Beta-Carotene contains Vitamin A and has a yellow-orange pigment that gives the distinctive color to certain fruits and vegetables such as pumpkins, carrots, sweet potatoes, oranges, tomatoes, bananas and squash. It is also the pigment that gives the bright orange color to cooked lobsters and the pink color to salmon and flamingos. This particular version of Beta Carotene 1% is cold water soluble, believed to improve stability against oxidation. In addition to its role as an antioxidant fighting against harmful free radicals, it also has a high ph and UV and heat resistance. This supplement is generally used as a food additive and colorant, used in many things such as ice cream, baked goods, sauces and more.
