Kapton Low static tapes are made of DuPont Kapton polyimide film. They are 1 mil thick backed by silicone adhesive with ESD additive to reduce the static charge. They can withstand temperatures of up to 500 degree F. Silicone adhesive is 1.6mil thick and leaves no residue. Total thickness of this product is 2.6+/-5 mil. Applicable for environment where static discharge is a concern, fiber optics cables, high temperature masking, insulation on transformers, motors and coils, protection of circuit board gold finger contacts during wave solder and solar panels. Thin and conformable enabling masking of uneven surfaces. Removes cleanly without adhesive residue after exposure to heat. High performance silicone adhesive. High strength backing provides superior resistance to puncture and tear. Resistance to chemical attack. Film thickness: 1.2 mil. Adhesive thickness: 1.5 mil. Peel strength: 500 +/- 100. Tensile strength: 20 lbs/in. Elongation: greater than 50 percent. Static charge - unwinding: 50 V. Static charge - peel off: 50 V. dielectric strength: 6500. Temperature resistance: 500 degree F. Resistance to acids, oils, solvents: excellent. RoHS compliant. Measures 36 yds length by 1/4" width by 1 mil thick.
