Fast Autofocus & Silent Operation The XF 18-135mm utilizes an inner focus mechanism for rapid autofocusing speeds. This was enabled by making the focus lens lighter and installing a linear motor. By adding linear motor technology which drives the focus lens is what creates the low noise for silent operation while shooting movies. Weather Resistant Structure By adding 20 areas of sealing points protects the lens barrel against various changes that occur in natural environments during shooting sessions. A ventilator was place in the interior of the bottom of the lens barrel to improve the feel when adjusting zoom, which effectively prevents dust particles and moisture from getting into the lens to allow for smooth operation. Light-Weight and Compact A wide shooting range, image stabilization function and weather resistant structure are realized in a size that weighs only 490g. 4 "aspherical lenses" have been adopted, each which deliver the performance of multiple general spherical lenses together, are used to realize extremely short optical length.
