The BP-975 Lithium-ion is built to last longer and resistant to the effects of "memory effect", meaning you can charge and recharge your battery without draining the battery. With four LED lamps on the battery, you are able to view remaining battery life, as well having the battery send remaining time and wear data back to the camcorder.
