This is a 126 film format negative holder for use with the Epson Perfection V700/V750 flatbed film scanners (US Patent Pending). This was CAD designed and manufactured for use with the obsolete 126 film format introduced by Kodak in 1963. Used commonly in Kodak "Instamatic" cameras, production of 126 film ended in 2008. 126 film was actually 35 mm in width so technically an Epson 35 mm OEM holder will work with them. The issue is that the image 126 cameras recorded was square and was also offset on the negative by 5 mm in height. Thus trying to scan a 126 negative in a 35 mm holder will result in cropping of the original image.
Specifications for the 126 negative holder:
Overall: 199 mm x 55 mm
Material: Solid Plastic
Features: Unlike some designs, this holder features a recessed channel to hold your negative strip firmly which can help avoid scratches or trapped dust that other holders may cause.
This holder is designed to fit inside the stock 120 film holder that shipped with your Canon or Epson scanner. Use of an OEM holder may not be necessary with your scanner, but it aids in proper positioning and helps avoid blocking calibrations slots on the scanner bed.
