Plastic Microhematocrit Tubes offer the same clarity and performance characteristics as glass with the safety features of plastic. When using these tubes, the risk of transmission of bloodborne pathogens associated with broken glass tubes is eliminated. These plastic tubes are better than film-coated glass because they cannot shatter and escape protective wrap. Plastic tubes can be bent or dropped without shattering. Only a small sample is required-less than 40L-and unique bore allows user to draw samples quickly. Plastic material does not interfere with cell packing. Available in 75-mm size for most traditional hematocrit centrifuges. Available treated with sodium heparin for use in "finger sticks" and untreated for use with anticoagulated blood.
