Gilder Mops are used to dust skewings from oil gilded surfaces. Russian Blue Squirrel hair will not scratch the real gold leaf. Oval Shaped mops are suited for ornate or shaped surfaces while square mops are best for a flat surface. (See da Vinci Series 710sq).da Vinci also makes a less expensive version of this brush in black goat hair, see Series 750ov and 750sq. made in Germany.
