Product Description

The Fluke Networks MFTK1400 fiber optic cable test kit includes a MultiFiber Pro optical power meter with on-board MPO connector, an 850nm multimode light source, and a FiberInspector Pro video microscope for verification and inspection of MPO fiber in data centers and enterprise networks. The MultiFiber Pro optical power meter with on-board MPO (multifiber push-on) connector and light source measures power and loss and validates polarity on all 12 fibers in an MPO fiber trunk, displaying test results for all 12 fibers in six seconds and ensuring end-to-end connectivity with built-in polarity verification per Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) standard TIA-568-C.0. The light source identifies each fiber within the MPO connector that is being tested, so that individual fibers that fail test limits are clearly displayed. Loss thresholds for the meter can be adjusted to suit specific applications and an indicator lights when the limit has been exceeded. The on-board MPO connector eliminates the need for fan-out cords and is shuttered to protect against contamination from dirt and dust. The meter's internal memory stores up to 3,000 test results (the equivalent of 250 MPO cables), that can be downloaded via the meter's USB 2.0 interface to a computer for long-term records retention, or for analysis and generation of certification reports using LinkWare software. The software is compatible with Microsoft Windows XP,Vista, and 7 operating systems. The meter can be set to automatically power off after 10, 20, 30, or 60 minutes of non-use to conserve battery life and has a low-battery indicator. Additional specifications include a display resolution of 0.01dB and various environmental operating conditions. Optical power meters are used by network technicians to troubleshoot, maintain, and optimize performance of fiber optic cable in data centers and enterprise networks. The FiberInspector Pro video microscope, consisting of a handheld display unit and probe, magnifies to 200X and 400X for inspecting fiber end-faces to check for contamination or damage. The microscope includes an MPO tip for inspection of MPO connected fibers and cassettes, and an additional set of probe adapter tipsST, SC, and universal 2.5mm patch cord tipfor accommodating different connector ports. The display has a 9cm (3.5") TFT (thin film transistor) LCD for viewing end faces. The probe can be inserted through bulkhead adapters for examining patch cords and patch panel bulkheads without disassembling the panel. In addition to the MultiFiber Pro, 850nm multimode light source, and FiberInspector Pro with adapter tips, the kit includes a set of test cords, MPO adapters, an AC adapter/battery charger for the FiberInspector Pro, batteries for each device, two carrying cases, and instructions.MultiFiber Pro Specifications850nm Light Source SpecificationsFT600 FiberInspector Pro Video Microscope SpecificationsWhat's in the Box?
