Control your entire home with the Zipato Zipabox (U.S)! As the main controller for the Zipato automation and security system, the Zipabox serves as a gateway between the Internet and your home control devices (sold separately). It supports a variety of technologies through simple, modular customization. The Zipabox receives programming information from the Zipato web portal through your Internet router, and uses wireless signals, such as Z-Wave, to communicate with devices. Once programming is sent from the cloud to the Zipabox, settings are stored locally, so an Internet connection is not required to operate connected devices. The Zipabox has built-in Z-Wave technology, and can be expanded to support other communication protocols, such as ZigBee, KNX, ONVIF, UPnP, DLNA, and more. As a modular controller, the Zipabox is easily customized with snap-on modules. The Zipabox includes free access to the Zipato web portal, where you will login online to configure devices, monitor security, and review energy consumption of metered devices. You'll be able to setup multiple users with different access rights, review home event history, set up email and text alerts, and add devices. Through the portal, you can access the Zipato Rule Creator, an online programming tool that lets you add devices or change rule settings. Rules trigger events when other events occur. You can develop rules with the Rule Creator's library of drag/drop blocks, which can be mixed and matched to create control sequences. The Zipabox plugs into a power outlet, and connects to your Internet router with the included Ethernet cable. It can be placed on a tabletop, mounted to a wall with screws, or snapped onto a DIN rail with fitters.
