Temecula Valley, located in the Southern California wine country, had a great 2012 grape harvest. The year began with a cool spring and early summer, which gave the grapes quality time to develop. While this resulted in a longer growing season for the grapes, the high heat in mid-August and early September led to a quick-paced harvesting across the valley. Overall, yields were slightly higher than forecasts—5-8 percent higher in some areas. Grape quality was really nice— fantastic color and strong flavor concentration providing a balanced juice.
