Kapton Tapes are made from Kapton HN polyimide film with silicone adhesive. They have been used in applications at temperatures as low as -452 degree F and as high as 752 degree F. DuPont Kapton polyimide films have set the industry standard for over 45 years in high performance, reliability and durability, with a unique combination of electrical, thermal, chemical and mechanical properties that withstand extreme temperature, vibration and other demanding environments. Kapton polyimide films make innovative design solutions possible in a range of industries including, consumer electronics, solar photovoltaic and wind energy, aerospace, automotive and industrial applications. 2 mil Kapton Tapes have a high tear strength. Silicone adhesive protection leaves no residue. They conform to MIL-P-46112, TYPE I. Applicable for automotive sensor and manifolds, etching, fiber optics cable, high temperature powder coating, semiconductor manufacturing, wave soldering during circuit board assembly, protection of circuit board gold finger contacts during wave solder, insulation on transformers, motors and coils and solar panels. Thin and conformable enabling masking of uneven surfaces. Wide operating temperature range up to 500 degree F. Removes cleanly without adhesive residue after exposure to heat. High performance silicone adhesive. High strength backing provides superior resistance to puncture and tear. Resistance to chemical attack. Available in amber color. Adhesion type: silicone.
