Product Description

Utility Knives - Introduced in 1976, the Four Star & #174 line is today's most popular upscale knife series. Celebrated professional chefs helped design the Four Star knives that blend a classic design and precision forging with a comfortably safe grip. This German-made cutlery features high-carbon no-stain steel blades, ice-hardened for superior strength and sharpness. The 5" Serrated/Utility Knife specializes in smoothly slicing through the tough skins of tomatoes and salami and croissants and hard-crusted breads. Juicy or soft fruits and vegetables are no match for this versatile serrated-edge knife. Product Features One-piece precision forging ensures higher blade stability and lasting sharpness Friodur & #174 ice-hardened knife blade offer greater resistance to corrosion and pitting Hand-honed high carbon stain-steel knife blades protect against rust and stains Laser-controlled knife edges stay sharp longer with a more consistent blade angle Ergonomically designed knife handle offers a smooth, comfortable grip Seamless polypropylene handle is unbreakable Full rat-tail tang ensures proper balance and greater strength Enlarged knife bolster lends extra balance Dishwasher-safe, but hand-washing recommended Made in Germany Lifetime warranty - Specifications Model: 31070-133 Material: ice-hardened high carbon stainless-steel blade with polypropylene handle 5" Serrated Utility Knife Size: 5"L blade (9 1/4"L w/handle) x 3/4"W blade Weight: 1.9 oz. Care Instructions Henckels knives are dishwasher-safe but hand-washing is recommended. In the dishwasher, your Henckels knife may bang against other cutlery or pots and pans and knick the blade. Wipe the knife clean with a wet cloth and dishwashing detergent. Dry immediately. Dry from the back of the knife to the blade. No metal is completely stain-free. To prevent slight tarnishing, be sure to remove acidic foods (lemon, mustard, ketchup, etc.) from the blade after use. If blade should show some signs of staining, clean with a non-abrasive metal polish. To prevent irreparable blade damage, it is best to store your knife in a knife block or in-drawer knife tray.
