Use and Care Clean your Victorinox knife after every use. For best results, hand wash the knife with a soapy cloth, then rinse and dry immediately. Do not put the knife in the dishwasher. In the dishwasher, the strong detergent degreasers strip the wood handle of its natural oils causing them to split or crack. Cutlery in the dishwasher can also collide with other items and dull the knife edge. Do not soak the knife in water or any other liquid. Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight. Oil the knife handle when you notice the wood starting to dry out. Simply apply a small amount of olive oil with a paper towel. Let the oil soak in for 20 minutes and wipe off the excess.
