Precision lasered for a premium angled blade, the long-life 8" knife allows for cutting, slicing and sharpening along its full edge from bolster to tip. The arched bolster supports the thumb and reduces hand and wrist stress for comfortable, controlled cutting. Contoured ergonomic polymer handle features a triple-riveted full tang and edgeless joints for a smooth, safe grip. The Zwilling J.A. Use and Care Your Zwilling J.A. Henckels chef's knife is dishwasher-safe but hand washing is recommended. In the dishwasher, your 8" knife may bang against other cutlery or pots and pans and knick the blade. Also, high heat and detergent are not good for the handle. Wipe the blade of the chef's knife clean with a wet cloth and dishwashing detergent. Rinse and dry immediately. Dry from the back of the knife to the tip. With proper care, your Zwilling chef's knife will last a lifetime. No metal is completely stain-free. To prevent slight tarnishing, be sure to remove acidic foods (lemon, mustard, ketchup, etc.) from the blade after use. If blade should show some signs of staining, clean with a non-abrasive metal polish. Do not cut through bone with the 8" knife or use the cutlery on semi-frozen or frozen foods. After several years of use, the Zwilling Pro chef's knife will need to be resharpened and honed with a sharpening steel. When used correctly and honed regularly, a Zwilling J.A. Henckels chef's knife only has to be resharpened once in a few years. To prevent irreparable blade damage, it is best to store your stainless-steel knife in a knife block or in-drawer knife tray.
