Giving a nod to acts like Okkervil River and The Decemberists with their rootsy undertones and foot-stomping rhythms, Elliott Brood are a promising new trio from Canada. Their music tells ''a macabre story'' (NPR) and ''and sounds at home just about anywhere'' (KEXP), and is guaranteed to conjure up a little taste of home with this fantastic February release.
