Place the unit on a flat surface with the cap and the word, "Humistat" on top. Gently turn the clear adjustable sleeve until the 3 openings (control vents) are exposed on both sides of the unit. Remove the cap and fill the unit with water until water emerges from the control vents. Firmly re-insert the cap, which creates a vacuum that makes leaking impossible.
Dry off the outside of the unit and adjust the ring so that 1 to 3 control vents are visible on both sides. You are now ready to use your HUMISTAT.
