Induction ranges rely on an internal component called an IGBT switch to control power levels. The Mirage G1 engine uses a single IGBT switch to power the entire unit. This is 75% more efficient compared to the approximate 50% efficiency of gas ranges. The pushbutton control has a bright LED digital readout that is easy to see. The range works in power levels from 1-20 or 100° - 450°F temperature range levels. The temperature memory powers up to the last used temperature setting. The induction range has a "Hot" warning display for safety. The top case is made from heavy-duty, 18-gauge stainless steel with a ceramic top. The ceramic top is framed for durability and easily cleaned with a mild cleaner. The bottom case assembly is durable molded plastic.
