Alizarin CrimsonAlthough it has a Lightfastness rating of III it is still considered permanent. Universally approved for artwork since it was first introduced in 1868. Incredibly beautiful with a characteristic bluish undertone and very clear and transparent. There are many blended substitutes for Alizarin Crimson with higher lightfast ratings but none can match the beauty of this scarlet crimson pigment.
