The Yost Vises 1104 2.5" drill press vise has a removable swivel base that mounts to a workbench to provide clamping action for general-purpose drilling applications, meets Federal Specification GGG-V-443A, Type 1, Class II, Style B and National Stock Number (NSN) 3460-00-221-1104, and is made in USA. The 360-degree swivel base adjusts the direction of the jaws for proper placement and secures in place with hand-tightened lock knobs. The swivel base can be removed to mount as a stationary-base vise for firm foundation. The class 30 gray iron casting body is durable and strong for extended life and has been machined smooth for accuracy in movement while minimizing non-uniform jaw motion. The sides and bottom of the body have been machined flat and perpendicular to each other to enable use of vise on its sides or ends. A rubber washer on either side of the handle prevents unwanted sliding when turning, and the balls on each end unscrew to enable replacement of the handle if worn. Clamps or mounting brackets (not included) should be used to mount the vise to a surface.The hardened-steel jaws can be replaced when worn. The stationary jaw has horizontal and vertical grooves to enhance grip of circular stock, and the moveable jaw is smooth.
