I have a very vivid memory of waking up late on a very hot summer morning! The house where I grew up was very quiet, and only my mother was there. She told me to eat my breakfast on the back steps where there was a small back porch , then stairs to the back yard. I can still hear the screen door close, and feel the cool breeze as I sat on the cement step eating my cereal. Quiet moments like that are what summer is all about.
