Product Description

This popular flavored tea blend has its roots in 1830s Great Britain. As the legend goes, the British Prime Minister Earl Grey II had rescued the young son of a Chinese Mandarin from drowning (or the son of an Indian Rajah from a tiger, depending on whos telling the story). The grateful father brought him a gift of blended Indian and Ceylon teas flavored with oil of bergamot, extracted from the rind of bergamot oranges. This decaffeinated version of Lord Grey's famous tea is true to the origins of the blend, flavored with real bergamot oil for that distinct citrus flavor. CO2 Decaf LogoAll of our decaffeinated teas are decaffeinated using the CO2 process developed in Germany as a natural alternative to the methylene chloride process that has become the industry standard. Using the CO2 method, we are able to maintain the unique flavors of tour premium teas. The smaller leaves are a normal result of this special decaffeination process.
