Johnsmith is a touring songwriter from Trempeleau, WI, and he's a gifted and soulful, high-energy performer and vocalist. "Kickin' This Stone" was co-produced by Lloyd Maines, and the players include Maines, Darrell Scott, Tom Kimmel, Glen Fukunaga and more. The CD's highlights are "Thomas Francis," a tribute to his six Irish great-grandparents, "Friend of the Coyote" a tribute to the late Dave Carter, and Greg Brown's "Early." Johnsmith's songs have a richness and depth of feeling that stem from a genuine belief in human triumph. In 2004, Johnsmith headlined at the Kerrville, Sisters, and Woody Guthrie Folk Festivals.
