Use the top portion of the lenses for the weakest magnification, the middle portion for slightly more power, and the bottom portion for full power, one full diopter in difference. (For example, a 2D pair of Progressive Reading Glasses provides 1D magnification at the top, and 2D at the bottom.) They're perfect for computer work or reading newspapers - because you can read everything from headlines to the tiniest stock prices with the same glasses.
