Product Description

The Benchmark FR standard navy coverall is a single-piece protective garment, made of flame resistant cotton, and helps protect skin and clothing from damage caused by arc flash, flash fire, electrified wires or equipment, and other hazards. It is suitable for use in the oil and gas, electrical, chemical, and other industries. This coverall has a full-length front zipper to facilitate donning. A snap closure flap covers the zipper to help reduce risk of exposure through the closed zipper. The coverall has seven pockets for holding tools and other items, open cuffs for loose fit at the wrists and ankles, a waistband with elastic in the back to better position the garment, and an adjustable inseam. It has a Hazard Risk Category (HRC) 2 rating and an Arc Thermal Performance Value (ATPV) of 13 cal/cm2. This coverall has been tested to meet the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 2112 standard for protection against flash fire. It is manufactured to comply with NFPA 70E standard for electrical safety in the workplace, OSHA 1910 standards for safety, American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) 1506 standard performance specification for flame resistant and arc rated textile materials for wearing apparel for use by electrical workers exposed to momentary electric arc and related thermal hazards, and the National Electrical Safety Code (NESC) 2012. Coveralls, also known as boilersuits, are single-piece protective garments with full length legs and sleeves. Coveralls come in a range of protection levels, from light-duty suits worn over street clothes to keep them clean while working, to heavy-duty hazmat suits that protect the wearer from toxic liquids, gases, and airborne particles. Less protective suits are made of breathable fabric, and can weigh less and feel less restrictive than heavy-duty suits. More protective suits are made of fabrics impervious to gases and water vapor, and include hoods, attached boot covers, taped seams, all features which can lead to discomfort or heat stress if worn for extended periods. Protective coveralls are commonly used in applications such as paint spraying, mold remediation, environmental cleanup, and fiberglass installation.Benchmark FR manufactures arc and flame resistant clothing. The company, founded in 2002, is headquartered in Santa Ana, CA.
