Protect your storm door and the closer from wind damage or over extension by installing a storm door wind chain. This white storm door chain from Ideal Security protects doors from wind damage when strong gusts of wind tear the door out of your hand. The hold up spring prevents chain from hitting door and scratching the glass. This standard white storm door chain provides a neutral color that won't clash with the existing color. May be used for both screen and storm doors. Mounting hardware includes a 5-1/2" shock absorbing spring mechanism connected a mounting bracket on one end for mounting on the door jamb and a support bracket on the other end with a removable pin to adjust and secure the chain on the door. The overall length of the chain and spring is ~24 inches. There are four 3/4" long by 3/16" diameter threaded screws with a flat blade and Phillips combo screw heads for use in mounting the two brackets. There is a 2-3/4" hold up sprint that connects to the middle of the chain and is attached to the door jamb to keep the chain from hitting the door and scratching the glass. It is held in place with an included double headed nail. Door Chain installation instructions are included on the back of the package.
