The wolf is a common symbol in Celtic lore, shamanism and many other world traditions, often representing honor, nobility and protection. Llewellyn taps into that rich essence with his album WOLFLORE, featuring seven imaginative pieces of music themed after the heart of the wolf. Wood flutes swoop and swirl through the album, while rhythms percolate beneath and keyboard ambience lends a haunting mood. The title track is particularly robust, with heavier drum rhythms scampering amidst flute melodies. Other songs are a bit more mellow and dreamy, capturing the wolf's more ethereal nature. Fans of Native American fusion music will find a lot to like on this album - the music finds a nice balance between earthy rhythms and uplifting atmosphere.
