Ultrasonic leak detectors have a decided advantage over conventional leak detectors-they "listen" for leaks and alert you to their presence. There is no gas sensor to become clogged or faulty, and no gas interferences to worry about. This leak detector locates any pressurized gas leak. It is excellent for use with boilers, furnaces, heat exchangers, and chillers. You can also use it to inspect bearings on pumps and machinery, or detect arcing electrical switchgear from a safe distance. Even windy outdoor conditions won't affect its performance. The high-intensity LED indicator provides good visibility indoors or out. Use the ultrasonic transmitter (sold separately) with the leak detector to amplify leaks in insufficiently pressurized applications. The transmitter is useful in checking gaskets or panes of glass. Ultrasonic waves produce a different sound when a gasket or surface is damaged. What's included: model 86417-00 includes leak detector, headphones, tubular extension with adapter, and a soft carrying case.
