From the Manufacturer: Rain Bird nozzle sets are designed to save water with even and efficient coverage. Rotors apply different amounts of water depending on the pattern that they are set to water. Assuming the nozzles are the same, a rotor set to water a quarter (1/4) of a full circle applies more water than a rotor set to water a full 360 degree pattern. Changing nozzles can help even out the amount of water being sprayed between rotors set for different patterns to help maintain a healthier lawn and save water. Nozzle tree also acts as a rotor pull-up tool. Insert "T" shaped end into keyhole slot in top of rotor, turn and pull to easily lift rotor stem up out of ground. Nozzle Tree includes one each of these nozzle sizes: .75, 1.0, 1.5, 2.0, 3.0 and 4.0 GPM. Rain Bird "The Intelligent Use of Water"
