The Dean Martin Celebrity Roasts, produced and directed by Greg Garrison, always featured the "Man of the Hour" who sat through insults, put downs and jokes from a panel of legendary celebrities like George Burns, Milton Berle, Jack Benny, Jimmy Stewart, Don Rickles, Rich Little, Totie Fields, Phyllis Diller, Foster Brooks, Ruth Buzzi, and many more. The show was eventually spun off into a series in 1973 with Martin acting as "roastmaster", and it continued until 1984 where it was a fixture on the NBC Thursday night lineup. This video contains two classics - Bob Hope being "honored" in 1974, and the very first roast from 1973 with Ronald Reagan.
