HDMI and DVI video signals are the same, but ports on TV sets and home theater equipment are not standardized, so you sometimes need a workaround. This adapter quickly and easily allows you to connect older and newer equipment with no loss of video quality. Just plug this adapter into your equipment's DVI-D (DVI 24+1) port, and then plug the HDMI cable into the other side of the adapter. Please note: HDMI cables carry both video and audio signals. DVI cables only carry video. You may need to add a separate audio cable to your setup.
