This Purveyor's Story: Bidwell Candies was started by founder Virgil Bidwell in 1920 out of his garage. With a passion for chocolates, Virgil wanted to share with others his delicious confections. He ran the business for several years then moved it to a storefront sometime in the 1930's. Virgil and his family ran the business for many years, with his daughter taking over and caring on the tradition for over 25 years since. Ninety-percent of the materials used are original: copper kettles, marble slabs, etc. The concept is still the same as well as the recipes used, with all chocolates being handmade and hand-packed in the USA. Every day is a fun day in our delicious world of chocolate, and a very rewarding experience to manipulate the simplest of ingredients into delicious confections. IMPORTANT: To maintain freshness, this item is only shipped out Monday through Thursday.
