The Mitutoyo 570-244 electronic height gauge has a measurement range of 0 to 8" (200mm), a high-contrast LCD readout, a precision of 0.0005" (0.01mm), an accuracy of + or 0.001", a hand-operated slider, an electrostatic capacitance linear encoder, and a carbide-tipped scriber. A calibrated screw mechanism supports fine, uniform slider adjustments. The hold function freezes recordings on the display. Relative and absolute measuring functions allow measurements of the true size or comparison measurements of parts to a master. An electrostatic capacitance linear encoder prevents overspeed errors to ensure reliable, precise measurement. The included scriber, used to mark position on the workpiece, is carbide-tipped for hardness and durability. The gauge is powered by one SR44 1.55V silver oxide battery (sold separately) that provides approximately 5000 hours of normal use. An alarm indicates when battery replacement is needed. The gauge has a working environment temperature of 32 to 104 degrees F (0 to 40 degrees C). Storage and transport temperature is 14 to 140 degrees F (-10 to 60 degrees C). The satin chrome finish on the scales resists rust and is glare-free. The base is ergonomically shaped for ease of handling.
