O'Keeffe's Working Hands creates the perfect microenvironment for the skin to repair itself and regain its integrity. We utilize three chemical properties to encourage the skin to initiate the healing process. First, we hydrate the skin with both water and glycerin. Glycerin is a humectant which chemically draws moisture to itself. Hydration is the process of replacing lost cellular water (only hydrated cells are capable of repairing themselves). Secondly, we trap that moisture at the cellular level to prevent evaporation. Thirdly, we alter the pH in the dermis layer of the skin causing the chemo receptors to react by activating the production of the body's own potent compounds that stimulate healing.
