This joint requires a thin band of lubrication to form tight seal, otherwise it will leak. The standard lubrication is laboratory-grade high vacuum silicon grease. Our glass stopcocks are pre-lubed with a very thin film of this grease, and it should not come into contact with your compound. Glass stopcocks are held into the bore with a rubber O ring and may be easily removed for cleaning and re-lubing as needed.****
