The Fowler 54-180-600 is a height gauge with motorized movement, a built-in air pump, multiple reference at any point, a USB 2.0 port, a measurement range of 0 to 24" (600mm), and a high-contrast LCD digital readout precise to 0.001" (0.01mm) with + or 0.002" of accuracy. The application range of the gauge is 0 to 36" (915mm). Motorized movement raises and lowers the gauge on the beam with smooth, even travel, and a built-in pump provides an air cushion to reduce wear and fatigue. The gauge also has manual displacement for faster adjustment of the gauge on the beam. The gauge uses input from an interchangeable carbide ball probe that measures 0.236 x 2" (6 x 50mm) (diameter x length). A master setting gage (included) calculates the constant of the probe. A second probe mounting location can be used to measure taller items with a tall gauge block (sold separately). The gauge measures heights, depths, inside and outside diameter (ID/OD), centerline, groove and ledge, and parallelism. The gauge also has squareness measurement capability with a Magnascan50 electronic probe (sold separately). The display also has zero setting at any point, performs calculations, such as minimum, maximum, and delta, against measurements stored in memory, and allows a preset at any point. The gauge has USB 2.0 port and direct RS-232 output for data export. The gauge is powered by a built-in rechargeable battery that provides up to 16 hours of normal use, and includes a battery level indicator. The gauge has a working environment temperature of 50 to 104 degrees F (10 to 40 degrees C) with a maximum relative humidity of 80 percent. The satin chrome finish on the scales resists rust and is glare-free. The base is hardened, ground, and lapped for maximum flatness. The gauge comes with a probe, a probe master, and a charger.
