After initial setup, heating element becomes virtually self-heating. Adjustable thermostat maintains desired temperature. Ceramic heater has 2 heat settings: low (1,000 watts) and high (1,500 watts), as well as a fan-only setting. With Automatic Thermal Fuse Protection, the thermal fuse prevents the heater from overheating. If the temperature rises above a certain point, the thermal fuse will kick in and stop the heater. Ceramic heater heats 100 square feet on low heat setting or 144 square feet on the high heat setting. Comes with a 2-prong plug.
