There is no such thing as being too young to learn about money. In our credit and loan stacked world, TechTrep students will learn the fundamentals of successful financial management to help guide sound financial decisions as they enter the workforce. Students learn about a myriad of financial topics, all selected to help them make wise financial decisions now and in the future. Topics include: how to apply real-life financial principles to things they're saving for now, how to make informed decisions about personal finances, and understanding and navigating personal loans, savings, credit, investments, and financial planning. Using real-world and relatable examples, students enrolled in this course will create a personal budget and perform a cost analysis on buying vs. leasing and renting vs. buying, as well as a research report on the cost of living and education. Students can work at their own pace anytime, anywhere, and are eligible to participate in a Spring or Fall Showcase (depending on enrollment date) to share their work.
