Vcomp is a noise barrier composite consisting of a dense 1/8" vinyl based polymer barrier with a 1/4" thick foam decoupler. It has a total thickness of 3/8", weighs approximately 1 lb/sq. ft. Vcomp is meant to be installed on floors, doors and firewalls to reduce road and engine noise. Using a damping material in conjunction with Vcomp will offer the optimum performance. Each sheet measures 54" x 36" for a total of 13.5 sq. ft. per sheet. OUR SUGGESTION FOR YOUR BEST RESULTS: We suggest B-Quiet Extreme or Ultimate throughout the vehicle to control structural borne noises, such as rattles, resonances, vibrations and also to slow the propogation of road/engine/exhaust noise into the cabin. For even better reduction of road/engine/exhaust noise, we would suggest a layer of Vcomp/LComp over top of the Extreme/Ultimate on the floor, lower interior firewall and rear cab wall to absorb and block airborne noises. We recommend 100 sq. ft. Extreme/Ultimate and optionally 30 to 40 sq. ft. of Vcomp/LComp for your vehicle. You also might consider a sheet of Hliner for under the hood to further reduce engine noise levels inside the cabin.
