Product Description

View larger Class A-B Topology A class A/B amplifier uses two groups of transistors and it is generally considered to be the best compromise of the two classes put together. A pure class A amplifier typically has an enormous amount of current flowing through its output transistors with no audio signal while a pure class B amplifier has NO current flowing through its outputs with no audio signal. This eliminates virtually all of the crossover distortion thats possible with class B amplifiers. A class A/B amplifier is much more efficient than a class A but without the possible distortion of a class B. MOSFET PMW Power Supply MetalOxideSemiconductor Field-Effect Transistor is a transistor used for amplifying or switching electronic signals. We use it in billions of them. In our computers, our telephones, game consoles, cars, electrical appliances and in this case, our Amplifiers. They are found in systems where information is processed or stored. A MOSFET is basically an electrical switch that allows the flow of electrical current. An electrical switch has two possible states, ON or OFF. This is where the MOSFET performs its most important role in our D Class amplifiers by allowing or preventing the flow of power and creating an efficient amplifier.(PMW) Pulse Width Modulation is a really clever way of controlling the amount power any certain device receives by switching from ON to OFF extremely fast. It comes in handy in the case of the MR1950 amplifier. We want to use all of the power that is available without creating heat caused by resistance. Basically, the power flow is regulated so that it meets the exact specifications of the application that it is being used for. PC Board Coating Since the MR1950 is near the water a lot of the times, the PC board is exclusively coated to protect it from the damaging effects of corrosion that humidity and the salty air can bring on over time.

View larger Variable Low-Pass Crossover Subwoofers reproduce sound based on a number of different low-range frequencies. This process is called the crossover effect and occurs because the vast majority of audio systems cannot cover the entire spectrum sufficiently to minimize sound distortion and maintain an appropriate frequency ratio. In the case of our MR1950 amplifier, a variable crossover is offered so that you, the listener, can have the ability to set the frequency at which the crossover occurs, thereby setting specific sound specifications for the bass frequency reproduction. General Features View larger Fixed High-Pass Crossover Speakers also reproduce sound based on high, low or mid-range frequencies. High-pass crossovers are geared specifically towards highs such as all size speakers, mid ranges and tweeters. Unlike the Variable Low-Pass Crossover mentioned above, you are not able to set exact sound specifications such as the bass, mid-range and high frequency reproduction. This High-pass crossover is fixed. Ground, Battery and Remote Side

View larger Specifications View larger Variable Bass Boost The difference between the bass boost and variable bass boost is that with bass boost you either have extra bass or you dont. But with variable bass boost you have the control of exactly how much bass you want to pump out to your subwoofer(s). And this is what you get with the MR1950 Amplifier: Variable Bass Boost.
