The newest innovation from Kaito, the KA550 is designed for both everyday use & emergency preparedness applications. It offers different methods to power up itself including an optional AC/DC adapter, AA batteries, the built-in rechargeable Ni-MH battery that can be charged by the AC adapter, hand cranking or a computer, and the patented flip-up 180-degree adjustable solar panel provides power for the radio even when no battery is installed.

The KA550 covers a wide range of broadcasting including AM, FM, shortwave and NOAA weather stations. All NOAA channels are pre-programmed, you can easily and conveniently tune into the stations by turning the dial, no guess work involved. Better yet, the Voyager is also equipped with weather alert, which will automatically activate the radio to inform you of any hazardous weather conditions or warnings including natural, environmental and public safety.

The KA550 also has Kaito's unique design of a 180-degree adjustable solar panel, which can maximize sunlight exposure to power up the radio or charge the internal Ni-MH batteries. On the back side of the solar panel flipped up, there's super-bright 5-LED reading lamp.
