Red is used for rear projecting loads and when the lights are facing traffic for front projections or wide loads you must use yellow. Forward facing red lights are reserved for emergency vehicles; police, ambulance etc. The LEDs are rated for 100,000 hours and are very low in power consumption. A pair of AA batteries will last for 200 hours on flashing mode. The LEDs are ultra-bright and can be seen up to 2000 ft. The convex shaped lens allows a 180 degree visibility.
