The Giro Privateer Shoes sheath your feet in a combination of performance and comfort not easily matched in shoes of a similar price point. Their uppers are constructed from a synthetic leather that is not only supple, it holds its shape for miles and miles of riding. It is also breathable so that your feet stay dry no matter how high the temperatures rise, and mesh inserts have been sewn into the uppers to speed up the evaporation process. The Privateer's uppers are secured with a ratcheting buckle at the ankle and two hook and loop closures. The DuPont Zytel composite sole isn't quite as stiff as a carbon sole, but it also isn't as pricey. But, when it comes down to it, having a slightly more forgiving sole means more comfort for long hours in the saddle. The deep lugs provide traction when you need it. The EVA molded footbeds provide medium arch support that works with the sole to enhance comfort for the long haul. The Giro Privateer shoes are compatible with 2-hole mountain style cleats.
