High Performance Drivers The Wren V5 makes beautiful music with two 3-inch throw drivers with 4-layer voice coils to handle big power while dissipating heat. High frequencies are rendered silky and natural by a pair of edge-driven, wide dispersion 19mm soft dome tweeters optimally positioned on the front baffle to create a wide, realistic soundstage that rides high and free above the box. DSP-Controlled Digital Amplifier The Wren V5 is powered by Intersil's D2 Audio DSP-controlled digital amplifier with 50 watts of real power. Our DSP optimization allows you to play louder with more bass and less distortion. We enhance the soundstage, not with psychoacoustic tricks but traditional loudspeaker engineering that produces a big, lifelike image from a small system. Solid Anti-Resonance Enclosure Beneath the beautiful wood veneers, the Wren V5 cabinet is constructed of half-inch thick MDF board constructed by laminating layers together and reinforced with an internal MDF brace to provide a chassis free from resonance and coloration. As speaker designers have known for years, you just can't beat the timbre of timber! Acoustic Damping Silicone Base Pad The underside of the Wren V5 is covered with a 4mm low durometer silicone pad that stabilizes the chassis and absorbs any cabinet vibration, eliminating surface coupling buzz and coloration. Acoustically Transparent Grille Frame Cheap or poorly designed grilles can seriously impair a speaker's acoustical output. The grille on the Wren V5 incorporates such design features as radius ribs that add stiffness without diffraction and a diamond matrix that creates more open space so sound is not restricted. As with so many other small details of the Wren V5's design, our engineers make sound quality their top priority.
