The legendary orchestra of 'The King of Jazz,', Paul Whiteman, returns to Dutton with this, their third volume of his recordings, here spanning the years 1926-33. As is well-documented, Whiteman's orchestra of this period contained several star players such as Bix Beiderbecke and Frankie Trumbauer, and Beiderbecke is heard to great effect. Whiteman has his usual lineup of star vocalists in tow, the most notable among them being Bing Crosby, and his inimitable vocal style adorns various numbers in this compilation. Other featured vocalists included Harry Barris, Al Rinker, Peggy Healy and Jack Fulton, while several of the arrangments are by Bill Challis.
