The 'brilliant young music director' (The Sunday Times), who follows Lorin Maazel as musical head of Valencia's Palau de les Arts Reina Sofia, transforms the orchestra into one of the opera's protagonists, on an equal footing with 'an ideally well-balanced vocal cast' (Die Welt). Also forming part of the musical dream team are tenor Dmitri Korchak (Lensky), mezzo Lena Belkina (Olga) and bass Gnther Groissbck (Gremin), as well as the orchestra and chorus of the Comunitat Valenciana.
