This Paley Center for Media live event celebrates the 10,000th episode of "The Young and the Restless," the dramatic daytime serial about the socially disparate founding families of Genoa City, Wisconsin.

Brooks Barnes (media journalist, The New York Times) moderates the following panelists: executive producer/head writer Maria Bell, and cast members Christian LeBlanc (Michael Baldwin), Kristoff St. John (Neil Winters), Jeanne Cooper (Katherine Chancellor), Eric Braeden (Victor Newman), Melody Thomas Scott (Nikki Newman), Doug Davidson (Paul Williams), Michelle Stafford (Phyllis Newman), Joshua Morrow (Nicholas Newman), and Peter Bergman (Jack Abbott).

The panelists touch on such topics as: the show's strong sense of continuity as its chief source of success; the changes in style which Bell has experienced while writing more than a thousand episodes over twenty years; and the need to make every show like "a Friday episode" in terms of excitement.
