In 2006, Brad was the typical American guy overweight, high cholesterol, low energy, didnt sleep well. Sound familiar? After nearly 20 years in the telecommunications industry, Brad moved back home to Pennsylvania to seriously reevaluate his life. He was at least 40 pounds overweight, mildly depressed because of a recent business failure, and prescribed the drug Lipitor to normalize high cholesterol levels. Needless to say, he was not in the healthiest state. Brads aunt then happened to introduce him to the documentary film Eating, which highlights the benefits of a plant-based diet. For some reason the film really resonated with him, and overnight he adopted a strictly raw food diet. Within months, Brad felt like a completely different person. He had shed over 40 pounds, lowered his cholesterol levels, and discovered a youthful vigor and energy he hadnt experienced since his mid-20s. While he was completely invested in this new way of eating, he did miss the familiar crunch of traditional American snack food. He started experimenting with raw chips made from fresh vegetables, sprouted flax seeds, fruit nuts, buckwheat groats and an array of spices. He dehydrated the chips, keeping the temperature below 115 degrees, so as not to break his commitment to a raw diet. Brads homemade snacks were met with a lot of enthusiasm from family and friends, and due to his entrepreneurial spirit, he quickly realized the commercial appeal they could have. He ran demos at local farmers markets, and further praise validated the notion that his product had real potential. Soon, local health food stores and regional Whole Foods Markets began carrying Brads Raw Chips. Since then, Brads Raw Foods has been in a constant state of upward growth and expansion, and Brads products are sold in specialty retailers and established grocers all throughout the country. His product lines now include Brads Raw Chips & Crackers, Brads Raw Leafy Kale, and Brads Raw 4 Paws. His line of Brads Raw Onion Rings will also be launching soon.
